Troubleshooting Caps and Closures Video Series

Cocked Caps

Silgan University has developed a series of four troubleshooting videos to help address issues that may arise with your capping equipment. You can count on Silgan’s closures and equipment to provide the best possible packaging to maintain Integrity. However, there may be times where you must investigate matters in how containers are capped.

In this first video, you will learn about “cocked caps” — a condition which occurs with lugs are not engaged properly. We will first discuss the possible causes which can include incorrect settings of belts, springs, and sealing shoes. We will then point out the various components of your capping machine which may require adjustment.
